Psalms ◦ Chapter 47
1Come, everyone — all people of the earth — clap your hands,
cheer for the Lord, celebrate him with shouts of joy!2For the Lord God, the Almighty Creator, is overwhelming and awesome —
the great King who governs the entire earth!3He speaks to all the nations among us,
to the people placed at our feet.4He has chosen the earth as our home —
the radiant possession of those who with God prevail. 5In our hearts, God has risen with shouts of joy,
we adore the Lord with the praise of trumpets. 6Sing praise to God, sing praises;
sing praise to our King — sing praises!7For God is the Creator and Ruler of all the earth;
sing to him your heartfelt praise.8God rules over the entire world;
God reigns enthroned in his holy perfection. 9The leaders of the nations gather before him,
as do the people of the God whom Abraham trusted,
for the laws of nature that life is built upon belong to God —
the God who reigns supreme.
