January 14, 2021 Blogs Tim Jennings, M.D.

Four years ago, many people in America (and some around the world) experienced a crisis when President Trump was elected. Currently, there are many on the other side of the political spectrum experiencing a crisis as Biden and the Democrats have been declared winners of the most recent elections.

The World’s Wisdom Is Foolishness
January 7, 2021 Blogs Tim Jennings, M.D.

“Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?” (1 Corinthians 1:20 NIV84).

What is the basis of all wisdom? God and the knowledge of God, which means His character, His design laws, His methods, purposes, protocols – how reality works and why.

Isaiah One: A Message for the Church Today
December 31, 2020 Blogs Tim Jennings, M.D.

Isaiah is called the gospel prophet, the prophet who brings the good news. It’s in the book of Isaiah that we find the beautiful description of the coming Messiah, who becomes a real human:

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end (9:6, 7 NIV84).

December 14, 2020 Blogs Tim Jennings, M.D.

It is the Christmas season, and as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, God’s only Son, sent to save the world from sin, consider what that means. Understanding Bible Commentaries Through Design Law
December 7, 2020 Blogs Tim Jennings, M.D.

Over the years, I have received repeated requests to help people understand, through a design-law lens, quotations from various Bible commentators that can easily sound penal-legal.

Below is an example of one such quotation from a founder of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, followed by my comments explaining how her concept are best understood through a design-law perspective.

The Damaging Effects of Social Isolation During COVID-19
November 30, 2020 Blogs Tim Jennings, M.D.

Now that the election is over, I hope we can have reasonable and rational discussions about the various governmental responses to COVID-19 and their impact on society. From the beginning of this pandemic, I have been critical of the way various government officials have responded and dealt with this problem.

The Temptations of Jesus: A Lesson for Us
November 23, 2020 Blogs Tim Jennings, M.D.

According to Scripture, Jesus was tempted “in every way just as we are yet without sin” (Hebrews 4:15 NIV84). As we praise God for the victory of His Son, we can simultaneously examine how the devil approached our Savior and discover the evil tactics that he uses against us.

The Law of Liberty and Society Today
November 17, 2020 Blogs Tim Jennings, M.D.

My first book, Could It Be This Simple? A Biblical Model for Healing the Mind, was published in 2007. In it, I described for the first time the law of liberty, the principle of freedom upon which God created reality to operate. I described how this law is, like gravity, a constant that works whether one believes in it or not and that just like gravity, it is testable – there are reproducible and unavoidable consequences when we violate liberty.

Love, Don’t Hate, the Liars
November 9, 2020 Blogs Tim Jennings, M.D.

This morning, I read about Jesus’ trial and crucifixion from the gospel of John and was struck at the poignant lessons that apply to us today.

The religious and political leaders conspired for months to mislead the people about Jesus and prepare the nation for the moment they would strike. They had their “media pundits” spread misinformation about the Messiah. They misrepresented His actions as being of the devil (Matthew 12:24).

The Christian and Post-Election Blues
November 1, 2020 Blogs Tim Jennings, M.D.

It is Friday, October 30, 2020; in four days, the United States will elect its next president, and I, like the rest of the nation, don’t know who is going to win.
