Before I point out the mind-destroying methods of the woke—and woke/wokeism here means the philosophies and practices of extreme leftism, advancing authority over evidence, claims over facts, status over ability, opinion and personal feeling as truth, and the willingness to seize control of any levers of power to coerce others into compliance—we must recognize that there are sincere individuals who struggle with confusion about their identity, including their gender identity. These individuals need our love, compassion, and understanding and should never be the focus of any anger, hatred, or mistreatment. In fact, these struggling people are often the most exploited victims of powerful elites, who are doing everything possible to advance their own power grab and actually care nothing about those dealing with gender dysphoria.

What is happening in our society today is not about individuals with gender confusion; it is not about compassionate psychiatric and medical care; it is not about love for struggling people.

It is about a few corrupt elites advancing a godless agenda to brainwash people and destroy their individuality, to get them to surrender their God-given autonomy to the control of those corrupt elites, to make the masses into mere serfs easily exploited for the benefit of the few. And this is being done under the false flag of advancing human rights.

Observe the following: Those who struggle with gender confusion make up less than one percent of the population. Yet this small group of people with marked disturbance in mental health—people with gender confusion have significantly higher rates of comorbid mental-health problems than the general population[1]—has somehow garnered the unquestioning, loyal support of:

• Major news networks, newspapers, and magazines.
• Academia.
• Mega-corporations.
• Powerful political figures and groups.
• Major entertainment media corporations (Disney, Netflix, etc.)
• Various city, state, and federal governments (from legislatures and administrative policymakers to enforcers)
• Corporate medicine.

These groups are all actively promoting “transgenderism,” a socio-political movement, and force feeding it into all of our lives daily by way of:

• News articles, blogs, and segments.
• Films and shows, including programming aimed at children.
• Theme-park workers dressed in drag.
• Legislation and government policy, such as allowing male convicts identifying as female to serve time in women’s prisons.
• Collegiate rules, such as allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports or join sororities.
• Curriculum from elementary school to universities.
• Corporate marketing practices.
• Professional sports teams paying homage in their stadiums.
• Merchants displays in stores and restaurants.
• Medical literature.

This absurd level of support now often includes the public, shameless celebration and promotion of sexualized performances in front of children (“family-friendly” drag shows) and the bodily mutilation of children.

Indeed, it needs to be said that the majority of genuinely transgender people want to live private lives and never asked for this level of attention.

The Truth Behind the Movement

After all, clearly, this small percentage of the population does not possess power over all these societal institutions. Instead, this group of people is being used as pawns by godless elites to advance an ulterior agenda—the destruction of individuality, personal autonomy, and clear thinking.

The goal is to get people to surrender their thinking to voices of authority and to accept what powerful elites declare to be true as the truth and not question or think for themselves. The intent is to create a society of mindless drones who do not question those in charge and will serve as faithful worker-bees doing what the kings and queens of politics and industry tell them to do.

As with Critical Race Theory, it is about taking power away from the people and placing it in the hands of the few—again, all in the name of inclusion, compassion, and human rights.

The coercive methods of achieving this goal are many:

• Constant bombardment with propaganda and falsehoods, such as there is no such thing as male and female, using media to create a sense that “everyone agrees” and only the ignorant and unsophisticated disagree, labeling any voice who question the woke orthodoxy as a so-called “transphobe.” (Note that the propaganda is often contradictory—at the same time saying that there is no such thing as male and female, males can identify as females when they want to participate in women’s sports.)
• Using various pressure tactics to make it hard on people who disagree, such as:
  • Shutting down social media channels, which not only removes their voice and source of income but also causes emotional distress, distracting them with fighting behind-the-scenes battles with administrators whose goal is to prevent the truth from reaching the masses
  • Inciting mobs to mindlessly protest and riot when opposition speakers are invited to give evidence-based talks, never allowing the public to openly engage in meaningful and evidence-based dialogue
  • Threatening to invalidate licenses from professionals, fire people from employment, expel faculty and students from university, and revoke or deny scholarships, etc.

All those who refuse to comply are publicly punished in order to both silence voices of truth and to intimidate others into compliance.

Forced Reprogramming

As this assault on rational thinking and objective reality continues unabated, the one key practice of the woke mob that I want you to clearly recognize is how they intentionally place people in situations in which they are pressured/forced/coerced to say and do what the woke decide—or face their wrath. And this is commonly done without a person being given time to reason and think and without being given any objective evidence to consider—simply a demand to agree now or face reprisal.

This is the means of brainwashing people in order to put them under the elite’s control.

Those individuals who comply by speaking and acting the way in which the woke mob demands begin to lose their ability to think for themselves; sooner or later, they become yet another mindless follower in the woke mob cult—likewise coercing others while under the spell of the elites.

Understand this: The box in which the woke mob places people is not a real choice—it is a trap between two negative consequences, either internal or external:

• Do what they demand and suffer internal consequences—having one’s mind and character corrupted by acting out the lies of the mob in order to avoid the external consequences.
• Don’t do what they demand and suffer externally applied consequences inflicted by the mob—loss of media channel, being accused of being an extremist, loss of employment, business contract, or scholarship, or being expelled from school, etc.

That’s the game plan—under the guise of compassion and loving care, advance a falsehood that puts conflicting beliefs and values at play, such as:

• Declaring it “inclusion” to allow males into female sports even when you believe it endangers or takes advantage of women.
• Controlling speech by demanding that everyone use a person’s preferred pronouns when speaking even when one believes it would be lying to do so.

This places people in severe emotional and spiritual conflict: Do they lie to appease the woke mob, which violates their conscience, or do they speak the truth, which risks retaliation by the woke mob.

If they use preferred pronouns merely to avoid losing their job or being expelled from university, their conscience will convict them because they believe they are promoting a falsehood. This results in guilt and shame for not having the courage to stand for one’s beliefs. To avoid these negative feelings, the individual will either repent and stand for truth, which preserves their individuality—or they will rationalize, justify, and modify their own thinking until they come to the point that they actually believe the lies and argue that they are only being compassionate.

The Power Behind Brainwashing

The words we speak do more than reveal the thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, and motives of the heart—they also have the power to reinforce those beliefs.

When we are coerced into speaking lies, it fundamentally changes us. Slowly, our minds become less capable of clear reasoning and accurate thinking.

Nature, science, and our life experiences objectively confirm Scripture when it says that there are males and females. We cannot have peace by living in denial of this reality unless we replace our standard of what constitutes truth—objective, observable facts and evidence—with another standard of “truth”—in this case, strong emotion supported by a voice of authority, some subject-matter expert with a medical or academic degree, declaring their opinion as fact. Thus, speaking and living these lies result in people replacing facts and evidence with emotions and opinions. Instead of following objective truth, they instead choose to trust what they feel and what the voices of authority tell them.

This is exactly how cults work! Cults prey on the emotionally vulnerable and cult followers surrender their thinking to the cult leader until they are completely brainwashed and controllable. They believe something not because it is objectively true, but because the voice of authority has spoken it—and they will do whatever the cult leader (woke mob) tells them to do even if it would have violated their consciences not long ago, such as physically abusing another person.

This practice destroys the image of God in people. God is the Creator of reality, and He calls for people to be thinkers and not mere reflectors of other people’s thoughts. We have been given minds that have the ability to reason, weigh evidences, and come to our own conclusions. And we are to follow facts, evidence, and truth because all objective truth leads us back to God. The apostle Paul confirms that each person is to be fully persuaded in their own mind (Romans 14:5) and that the mature person is one who has developed by practice the ability to discern right from wrong (Hebrews 5:14).

That’s why God’s enemies do not want people to develop critical reasoning skills, to discern truth from error for themselves. That’s why the woke mob assaults objective reality in order to confuse minds and get people to make choices that destroy their own thinking out of fear of external punishment.

This is what wokeism is doing to America. It is the very opposite of how the kingdom of God operates.

The Woke Mob vs. God’s People

God’s kingdom is the kingdom of truth, love, and freedom. His people present the truth, in love, but they always leave others free to decide for themselves. Such principles were incorporated into the U.S. Bill of Rights, including the freedom to worship, to assemble, to speak one’s mind, to travel, and the freedom of the press, enabling peace and prosperity for everyone even when there are disagreements. Likewise, we present our understanding of truth and allow others to freely accept or reject our views in what they believe, in how they think, and how they choose to conduct their lives—without external, inflicted consequences.

Satan’s kingdom is the kingdom of lies, selfishness, and coercive control. It is the kingdom of the church of the Dark Ages, and it is the kingdom of the woke mob. Satan’s destructive methods are seen in the advancement of dogmas through propaganda, threat, coercion, intimidation, and force. You can see this evil methodology at work in the Dark Ages church as it sought to ostracize, persecute, and exterminate those who questioned or resisted her dogma. You see the same tactics at work in Nazi Germany and communist countries. And you see the same tactics used by the woke mob today.

When it comes to preferred pronouns, a Christian approach would be to choose, in governance of self, what one believes, what pronouns one wants to use for oneself, and to cordially communicate that preference to others—but then to leave others free to decide for themselves whether they agree or disagree and choose whether to use or not use those preferred pronouns. The person’s choice only informs you of how they think; their choice is not a determiner of reality. When Jewish leaders called Jesus demon-possessed, their name-calling didn’t make Jesus demon-possessed. Rather, it merely revealed how much their understanding of reality was corrupted. Likewise, the godly don’t fear being called names, for they stand upon truth and know who they are and in whom their security is found.

But the godless—the elites, the woke mob—practice evil methods that do not bring peace and security. Those who practice them are never satisfied with leaving others free; they always seek to force other people to act and speak the way evil insists. You can know the source, the kingdom, of the agenda by its fruit. With preferred pronouns, the evil use external pressures to make people conform in their own personal conduct and speech.

People who are living in denial of reality use coercive methods on others because their fantasy view is in conflict with objective reality, which causes a continual cognitive dissonance that they must actively work to deny. They are not at peace. Part of their system of coping is to demand that other people actively support their belief and tell them that their assertion about themselves is true and right—even though they know it is not.

Rather than dealing with their own self-dissatisfaction, they project that feeling out of themselves and blame any voices of truth as being the source of their emotional distress.

For instance, biological men who declare themselves to be female and demand to be treated as women do so against objective reality—they know that they have XY chromosomes, that their bone structure is denser than women’s, that their heart and lung function at greater capacities than women’s—but they don’t want to accept these truths. Therefore, they need constant external reinforcement of their subjective belief to help them retain their denial of objective reality. As a result, any voices that speak the truth are met with immediate anger and accusation. Jesus knew this well and said,

This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed (John 3:19, 20 NIV84).

The truth itself condemns those who deny truth. This conflict enrages them; thus, they begin to hate all sources of truth. When they join a welcoming woke mob, under the influence of elites who want to destroy all objective truth in order to destroy the image of God in people, they demand that everyone praise them and call good the mob’s cherished perversities (men in drag doing lap dances and strip-teases or walking naked in parades in front of children) and even declare falsehood to be true.

The Bible warns against such corruption:

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter (Isaiah 5:20 NIV84).

We can never avoid the truth; we can only delay the day we deal with it. If we accept the truth now, under God’s grace, we can experience healing and restoration to righteousness. But if we persistently refuse the truth, we will still have to face it when Christ returns—but at that point, no healing is possible, only eternal destruction

Wokeism and transgenderism, along with Critical Race Theory, are ideologies of the false, the elite’s system of lies, and they know it, which is why they rage so viciously against the truth. The goal of the elites is to destroy individuality, God’s image within, and turn the masses into serfs, mindless pawns to be used and exploited.

In contrast, God’s goal is to help you know truth and embrace His design law, upon which He built life to operate. It is only by living in the light of truth that we can be free beings and help others to be free.

While we must remain compassionate and treat with kindness and respect every single person who struggles with gender confusion, at the same time, we must refuse to surrender our minds to the control of the elites. We must reject the methods and systems of this corrupt world and embrace and practice the methods of God, truth, presented in love, while leaving others free—and always think for ourselves and choose to live out God’s principles in governance of self.

[1] Suicidal behavior among transgendered individuals is 32 to 50 percent, which is 8 to 10 times higher than the general population (4 percent).  A study published in JAMA found that 41.5 percent of transgendered women had some form of mental illness. This is double the rate in the general population of 20.6 percent.
