Reaping the Whirlwind—Sowing the Seeds for the Rise of the Beast

Reaping the Whirlwind—Sowing the Seeds for the Rise of the Beast

Recently, I was reading in the book of Hosea and was struck by how the prophet’s words to Israel are so applicable to us and our nation today.

Put the trumpet to your lips!
An eagle is over the house of the LORD
because the people have broken my covenant
and rebelled against my law.

Sound the warning! Devastation is coming, because we as a nation have become lawless. We have made “legal” for use various substances that violate the laws of health. We have rejected the Bible. Our public schools don’t teach biblical truth but a godless worldview. We don’t teach the sanctity of marriage, the covenant relationship that God designed to elevate and protect humanity. We have embraced divorce for any reason, co-habitation without marriage, sexual promiscuity as a rite of passage, and perversity of all kinds.

Israel cries out to me,
“O our God, we acknowledge you!”

We print “In God we trust” on our money and claim God’s blessing upon America.

But Israel has rejected what is good;
an enemy will pursue him.

But we are rejecting what is good, healthy, right, and reasonable, and are pursuing a course that is contrary to health, to the principles of life. We are actively suppressing liberty of conscience, censoring speech, and obstructing religious liberty while advancing narratives that deny reality and destroy reason, such as there is no truth—“your truth is your truth and my truth is my truth”—in which one’s whims, wishes, fantasies, and desires are substituted for truth.

They set up kings without my consent;
they choose princes without my approval.
With their silver and gold
they make idols for themselves
to their own destruction …

Who are the kings and princes of society today? Whom do people spend their money enriching? TV pundits, movie stars, athletes, politicians? Who or what are people worshiping—what are people finding worthy of their time, energy, thoughts, and affections? Entertainment, games, mind-altering substances—anything but actual godliness? Are we choosing leaders who put God first, who apply God’s methods and principles in their own lives? Or do we choose leaders who are godless, who advance a godless agenda contrary to biblical values and principles

And what is happening in society as a result of it embracing godless values? Are we seeing greater maturity, kindness, unity, friendship, development of individual abilities, or are we seeing greater degradation, division, violence, and conflict?

The decay, degradation, and increasing violence in society is no accident, no happenstance; it is the fruit of what we have sown.

They sow the wind
and reap the whirlwind (Hosea 8:1–4, 7 NIV84).

The law of sowing and reaping is: We reap what we sow. If we sow seeds that violate what is true, what is healthy, that is contrary to what is good, that violates the very protocols of life and health that the Creator built into our universe, then we will reap destruction. Paul in Galatians writes, “The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction” (6:8 NIV84).

And what have we sown in this country?

  • Godlessness: Generations have now been indoctrinated in our public schools with godless evolution. Their minds have been turned away from our loving Creator to a philosophy of kill or be killed, the survival-of-the-fittest mentality. And godlessness results in devalued human worth. Human beings become nothing more than another step of advancement of biological forces driven by the strongest taking from and exploiting the weakest to survive. And because of the law of worship—by beholding we become changed—people become less caring, less kind, more willing to harm others and take from others.

Neuroscience informs us that when we worship the God of love, we are less fearful and experience less physical and mental illness. But when we reject the God of love, the brain’s fear circuits activate, with subsequent inflammatory cascades in our bodies that cause greater mental and physical health problems. Further, fear causes greater selfishness and willingness to either exploit others or be exploited by others (surrendering of self to powerful people with the hope that one will be safe following them). We have sown godlessness into the minds and hearts of generations, and we are reaping the destructive results.

  • Unhealthy lifestyle: Generations have been raised on boxed foods, fast foods, junk foods, and have not been taught the principles of healthy nutrition. We have violated God’s design in food production with GMO foods, chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and industrial meat production with steroid and antibiotic use. We have undervalued physical activity and spent far too many hours sitting, playing video games and watching TV. We have legalized neurotoxic substances and promoted lies that they are harmless. We have exchanged the weekly Sabbath as a time of rest for a time of more work and more entertainment. Over 30 percent of Americans are chronically sleep deprived, which undermines brain function and increases mental and physical health problems. All of this and more has resulted in an obesity and metabolic sickness epidemic (diabetes, high-cholesterol, hypertension, heart disease, and strokes) that negatively impacts the brain, worsening mood, undermining cognitive abilities, and contributing to impulse control problems and violence in society.
  • Attacks on traditional marriage and families: Science is clear that the healthiest environments for children are homes with a mother and father who love each other and who parent in mature ways. Healthy homes have parents who do what is right and reasonable because it is right and reasonable, not because it feels good. They get up and go to work even when work is hard because they are willing to sacrifice themselves for the benefit of their families. They teach accountability and, thus, discipline their children in love, teaching a reality-based understanding of the world.

But America has devalued a two-parent home led by a man and a woman joined in marriage as God designed and, instead, blamed other reasons for the decay, such as racial tension. But race doesn’t matter in determining what is healthy for children; God’s design for families does. The Institute for Family Studies found that black children from two-parent homes consistently do better than white children from single parent homes:

  • 36% of young black women from intact families graduate from college, compared to just 28% of young white women from single-parent families.
  • 14% of young black men from intact families have been incarcerated, compared to 18% of young white men from single-parent families.
  • 13% of black children in intact families are poor compared to 33% of white children in single-parent families.

And what has governmental policies and social programs done to families? Do you think this is an accident?

  • Assaults on neurodevelopment: We have raised generations on theatrical entertainment (TV and film), often as the primary babysitter. Neuroscience documents that theatrical entertainment alters normal brain development causing under development of the higher cortex (where we reason, think, and self-restrain) and over development of the fear and emotion circuits. This results in people growing up with brains that are more emotional, fearful, impulsive, more prone to anger, violence and less capable of clear thinking, working through emotions, calming self, and self-restraint. And we are reaping what we have sown as society continues to decay.
  • Denial of Reality: We have rejected objective truth and raised generations on an ever-increasing mental diet of fantasy, of belief in ideas that directly contradict reality, and this process is today morphed into the grossest and extreme forms of twisted thinking—such as there is no male or female, that gender is something that can be chosen distinct and separate from biological reality, or that transgenderism is not a symptom that something is unhealthy but is a normal alternative to binary sexual identity, or that women can perform just as well as men in combat or other highly intense physically stressful environments, or that men can get pregnant. Or that skin color matters more than character. Or that there is no truth; everybody’s “truth is their truth”; that opinion of certain people is the same as science; or that there is no right or wrong.

It is never good or healthy to deny reality, to advance fantasy, or to destroy critical reasoning skills. What have we reaped in doing so? It is not an accident that we are seeing such decay in our society; it is the fruit of what we have sown.

You can never avoid the truth; you can only delay the day you deal with it. The deniers of truth in this world have sown seeds of destruction, rooted in a godless worldview, and the destructive results are unavoidable.

However, because those advancing such falsehoods don’t value truth, and therefore refuse to acknowledge that the destructive outcomes are evidence that their agenda and philosophy don’t work, they instead find other targets to blame, such as guns in society. But it isn’t merely gun violence that has increased in society, but violence and abuse of all kinds have increased—domestic violence, child abuse, violence with vehicles, knives, riots, theft and organized shoplifting.

We have sown the wind and are reaping the whirlwind.

This decay in society, with its increasing violence, causes more fear, and there are only two ways to resolve this: the godly way and the ungodly way.

The godly way means that we return to God, return to the Bible, actively teaching our children, neighbors, and communities the truth of God’s kingdom in a loving free atmosphere. We actively seek to turn hearts and minds back to God for healing and transformation of the inner person, for as Jesus said, “the kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21). When people embrace God’s love, it casts out all fear and they come to love others and grow in godliness, developing the fruits of the Spirit—including greater self-control—and thereby live healthier lives, and society improves naturally.

Or, we continue down the ungodly road we are on, sowing the seeds of destruction and, on that road, the only way to provide some sense of order, some sense of safety, something to make the fear go down is through external force and control. And we will demand that our governments become ever more controlling, dictatorial, domineering, and abusive—like we see in communist China. We will pass more laws to make us feel safe, and the world will deteriorate into a totalitarian beastly system that Revelation tells us will occur before the second coming of Christ.

This beastly system described in Revelation is not an accident; it is the fruit of sowing the seeds of Satan into the hearts of our children, destroying the image of God in man, corrupting character, increasing chaos and violence until the point that we as a people actually come to believe it is right and good to use coercion and force upon others all in the name of pursuing justice and making us all feel safe.

We have sown the wind and are reaping the whirlwind. But we are not left without hope. Hosea tells us what we must do:

Return, O Israel, to the LORD your God.
Your sins have been your downfall!
Take words with you
and return to the LORD.
Say to him:
“Forgive all our sins
and receive us graciously,
that we may offer the fruit of our lips.
Assyria cannot save us;
we will not mount war-horses.
We will never again say ‘Our gods’
to what our own hands have made,
for in you the fatherless find compassion.”

I will heal their waywardness
and love them freely (Hosea 14:1–4 NIV84).

Our sins, our rebellion against truth, against God, against His kingdom, and against reality itself is our downfall. We will find true healing only by returning to the Lord. Our governments cannot save us; more might, power, police, or enforcement will not save us; the gods of our imagination, our fantasies, cannot save us. But if we return to our Creator, humbly confessing our wrongs, trusting in His goodness and grace, then we will experience His forgiveness, compassion, and healing presence. Jesus will save us if we return to Him. Our only hope is in Jesus.

Your teachings about our heavenly Father have changed my life. Thank you sooooooo very very much! I know He’s doing some serious healing in my heart and life and I look forward to each new day to learn something new about Him and to just hear you speak about Him. Thank you, forever.

Testimony 55

I was born [into the church], then I left it for many years. 10 years ago, I came back, but I could not take the hypocrisy and the lack of answers to the missing pieces. I struggled, but I did not abandon my commitment to know the truth. God is leading me to the simple understanding of his relevance and I am relearning what the church taught me as a youth… that he loves me, that he has led me to a knowledge of him such as I have never known. He is using Dr. Jennings to connect the dots that are now so apparent and hiding in plain sight!

Thank you! I love listening to the Come And Reason Ministries Bible study classes and am using some of your notes to get the lessons together that I will be teaching. You always have such good quotes and Bible texts and pull things together to make good sense.

Testimony 40

I was brought up in a different faith and have been petrified my whole life of God. I believed that I would burn in hell for eternity. When I was 12 I started pursuing the things of this world, but for the next 45 years the Spirit was always calling me, as I knew there was a God through nature. I could see the vast sea of stars in the universe and knew there was something bigger out there. Five years ago, through a Revelation seminar, I was blessed to learn about God’s character and government.

Then I found Come and Reason Ministries and have come under some extreme pressure when I speak about the ministry. One time a member sent me an internet article titled “Whats wrong with Tim Jennings?” I asked her what she thought of it and she said “I don’t know, I didn’t read it.”

I have always wanted to find out for myself the truth about God, so I stayed with the Design Law construct and have been liberated to understand the big picture. Once we consider Design Law, all other Bible stories and prophecies seem to fit perfectly. It is truly beautiful to see people grasping how God operates this Universe of Love and the liberation it has provided in their lives. It blows my mind to see how consistent Design law is with what our founders believed. I hear statements like “This makes so much sense.”

Testimony 71

When I was 9 years old, I remember setting at our devotional table with a hunger and thirst for God that wanted more, deeper, BETTER. I can remember literally crying and pounding on the table, “I know these teachers didn’t mean to give us error. They taught what THEY had been TAUGHT, but didn’t ANYBODY READ THE BOOK?!?!?” It mattered to me then. It mattered to me as a teenager. It matters now as I teach bible classes. It didn’t have to be so hard as I watched so many give up and lay God’s great plan and gift of salvation aside as being “impossible.” Then, a friend sent me a link to Come And Reason’s website. I grew excited. YES! FINALLY! Then another friend told me to stay away, saying her son had just broken up with a girl because she was involved with Come And Reason and that “Tim Jennings preaches a false gospel.” But, AFTER many years of developing an authentic and, dare I say FUN relationship with Jesus, through the Holy Spirit I see this message has been around a LONG time, since the apostle Paul, Ellen White, Graham Maxwell, Ray Foucher, and yourself (though I admit, you’ve made me back up, rewind and replay the clips, and get out my well-worn Bible on a few things.) I’m so thankful I have found LIGHT during these DARK days. I am not alone.

Testimony 70

I have been watching you for many years and have learned to love God with all my heart. I was raised by a loving Christian mother that had been lied to about who God really was, so our religious upbringing was hell fire and damnation. As soon as I was old enough and moved out, I not only left the church, I ran as fast as I could to get away from it. Sad to say, it wasn’t until the past couple of years that I learned and understand who my Father really is and how much He loves me. I understand God’s Design Laws (which make sense) and when I’m teaching my church Bible study class, I’m able to really put to use the things I’ve been learning and Holy Spirit is leading. Thank you for introducing me to my Father of true, pure love. Everyday with Him is new and exciting. One thing that breaks my heart is that I didn’t know Him sooner. God Bless you and your ministry!

Testimony 36

Thank you and may God continue to bless you as you share with others the intricacies of how we are all “fearfully and wonderfully made”. I must share that you have opened a whole new world to me, and I have found tremendous healing through what you have shared in two of your books, “Could It Be This Simple?” and “The God Shaped Brain.” I praise God for what you shared, what I have learned, and how I have grown and healed! My prayer is that My Precious Jesus will be seen by others in the way I live, act, talk, etc. and they may be encouraged to know He is truly a GREAT God of LOVE, desiring that no one should perish! God Bless you in your continued endeavors to present Him as He really is!

Testimony 69

After reading your book, ‘Could It Be This Simple,’ someone was explaining Christianity in a way that made sense to me for the first time in my life. One morning, I simply prayed “I’m sorry and I love you.” As soon as I silently said that, I could literally feel God’s presence and light flood down on me from above and fill me up with love and joy. I sat there crying my eyes out, because I was so overpowered with this feeling of love and joy. It was just so incredible. I hope that more people can read this book and get a blessing from it. It’s really amazing.

Testimony 72

I am blown away by the truth that you present. God’s Design Law makes so much sense! You have validated my impression that, if God is love, He would not kill those who don’t want to know him. If God gives us choice, then how can He destroy us if our choice is not to follow him. Thank you for opening my eyes and heart to the pure love of God seen through Jesus. The love I now have for Jesus is deeper and free from condemnation. My heart has been opened to love others as Jesus loves me. May God continue to bless your God-given insight into His word and your ministry. The truth has set me free!

Testimony 54

I had a lot of pressure, as a pastor’s kid, to conform and be “good.” I was good at being “good.” I thought my life was going along well until it all started falling apart and I could not figure out why! In my search for “why is this happening to me, God?” I came across your book, “Could it be this Simple,” and God started revealing to me the many distortions I held about His character, His principles, and how He has designed His universe to operate. I remember thinking, “Wow, I have had this all backwards.” I was happy and angry all at the same time. Happy to have the light of truth break through the darkness, revealing a wonderful, beautiful way of understanding God and His plan for His children, and angry, because I felt deceived and cheated by the church, my family, and myself!

My heart thrills when I listen to your bible study lessons. Literally I have gone from death to life. It is a journey I look forward to every day, as God reveals areas this distortion affects. Praise GOD! I will ever be grateful to God for this ministry and your cooperation with the Spirit!

Testimony 64

I’ve been reading the bible and walking with Jesus since I was around 16. I’m 42 now. I’ve mostly been alone in my walk although I went to several churches in different denominations. For the past 3 years God has been showing me His character of agape. It’s been a blessing and changed how I view God and my walk with Jesus. About a year ago I came across the power of love and the principles of design law. These teachings changed how I read scripture and have been such a beautiful blessing. I’m very excited and grateful for these truths. We share these truths of agape, design law and the reality of the principles of the two trees in the garden of Eden with people on Facebook and YouTube. People all over are learning to trust God and His agape design law which makes life possible. Thank you for everything you shared with me. May God continue to bless your ministry and lives.

Testimony 74

Thank you so much for opening my eyes. I’ve been through a lot of ministries that just didn’t show the love of God that I felt he was. You have helped me to begin the process of true healing. I thought I was “too far gone,” now I know there’s hope in Jesus, because he loves us beyond what we can comprehend. Thank you again for all you do. I truly appreciate it and pray more people find you (physical at your studio and through this website).

Just watched watched lesson 10 in the 1st quarter 2021 bible study classs on Isaiah. I want to thank you for your intellectual spirituality; it’s not an oxymoron! From the point of view of a teacher I also enjoy seeing how much personal pleasure you clearly take in not just tasting, but feasting on God’s word – it reminds me of Jeremiah not being able to hold it in! It makes me smile that your cup is so full and overflowing that you make it to Tuesday’s lesson (on a good day). It just goes to show the richness of God’s Word.

God bless the Come and Reason Team from our church here in Great Britain.

Testimony 48

I just want to tell you how blessed I have been reading “The Remedy!” It has become a daily part of my devotional relationship with God. In it I have found a God of love and a God that loves me! The bible has come alive for me! It is the first time that I can say that I have felt hope fill my heart as I have read God’s word. This is good news I can share! Thank you, Dr Jennings! Thank you for your heart for others. I can’t put into words how this has set me free! It has strengthened my trust and love for God.
