Salwing Met Olie: Ware Medisyne Of Bygelowige Seremonie?

Ek het hierdie vraag van ‘n aanlyn luisteraar ontvang:

Ek wonder of jy die Bybelse leer van salwing van die siekes waarna in die boek Jakobus verwys word, vanuit die ontwerpwetperspektief kan aanspreek? Ek verstaan net nie hierdie lering nadat ek van baie salwingsdienste gehoor het en gesien het hoe min mense genees word nie. Wat is die punt? Daar moet meer wees as net “blinde geloof”.

Jakobus 5:14,15 lees as volg:

Is daar iemand siek onder julle? Laat hom die ouderlinge van die gemeente inroep, en laat hulle oor hom bid nadat hulle hom in die Naam van die Here met olie gesalf het. En die gebed van die geloof sal die kranke red, en die Here sal hom oprig (AFR33).

Die instruksies hierbo het die beste van alle wêrelde:

  • Gebed
    • Nooi God se persoonlike teenwoordigheid, genesende krag en goddelike wil in die persoon se lewe en situasie in om toesig te hou en in te gryp want sy wil weet die beste
    • Maar gebed doen meer. Ons is lewende wesens wat deur God geskep is met fisiese vermoëns. Ons kan ‘n ander persoon fisies aanraak, ‘n been spalk, druk op ‘n wond uitoefen, ens., En sulke optrede kan voordelig wees vir die siekes, selfs al glo die een wat ingryp nie in God of vra God se hulp nie. Sulke voordele word deur God se wette bewerkstellig – die wette van fisika en die wette van gesondheid. Die spesifieke wette wat betrokke is by die toepassing van druk om bloeding te stop of ‘n been te spalk, sal as Newton se fisika wette beskou word – die fisika van groot dinge, die bewegingswette, wrywing, ens.
    • God het egter nie net die groot dinge geskep wat ons maklik kan sien en aanraak nie, maar Hy het ook die oneindige klein dingetjies geskep wat ons nie met ons fisiese sintuie kan sien en aanraak nie. Ons kan nie die atome, elektrone, subatomiese deeltjies sien en aanraak nie, en namate ons geleidelik kleiner word, betree ons die wêreld van kwantumfisika. Ons, as intelligente wesens, kan sonder om in God te glo, vermoëns gebruik of besit om ‘n been te spalk of bloeding te stop en as gevolg van God se handhawing van sy fisiese wette, bring daardie optrede genesing. So kan ons ook ons vermoëns deur middel van God se kwantumwette gebruik om ander te beïnvloed en voordeel te bring. Navorsing het getoon dat wanneer ons met liefde en gefokusde voorneme bid, ons keuse om ons energie te fokus op die doel om ‘n ander te genees, op ‘n kwantumvlak ‘n werklike fisiologiese genesingseffek het op die een waarvoor gebid word.     • Boonop, wanneer ons vir ‘n ander bid terwyl ons in dieselfde vertrek is as die een waarvoor gebid word, is dit ‘n verhoudingservaring, wat die siek een in staat stel om die troos, liefde, toegeneentheid en besorgdheid van diegene wat bid te ervaar. Sulke menslike konneksie kalmeer stres siklusse, verander geenuitdrukking om immuunfunksie te verbeter en skakel kankerbestrydende gene aan.[3]
    • Gebed het dus verskeie voordele:
      • Nooi God se goddelike teenwoordigheid in die genesingsproses in
      • Om op te tree as intelligente agente van liefde via God se kwantumontwerpe om ons individuele energie te gebruik om te genees en te herstel
      • Verbind mense in verhoudings, wat die sieke se gemoedstoestand verbeter en welstand bevorder
  • Salwing met olie
    • Olie in die Skrif het simboliese en letterlike fisiese gebruike en toepassings. Albei is nuttig in hierdie situasie. Ons sien die simbool in die salwing van priesters of konings (Eksodus 29:7) of Psalm 23:5, waar Dawid bid: “U salf my hoof met olie”, met verwysing na die reiniging van sy verstand en hart deur die Heilige Gees. Ons sien die letterlike salwing in die verhaal van die barmhartige Samaritaan, wat olie op die beseerde man se wonde gegooi het (Lukas 10:34).
    • In dié gedeelte in Jakobus verwys hy na albei. Die olie verteenwoordig bekende metodes van genesing. Die Bybel sê in wese, “As iemand siek is, maak die wonde skoon en pas geneesmiddels toe wat bekend is om te werk.”
    • Maar salf ook met simboliese olie, want dit kan genesende voordeel inhou vir diegene wat glo. Salwing met simboliese “heilige” olie skep nie ‘n magiese gebeurtenis nie, maar dit verhoog die krag van denke – wat sommige die “plasebo-effek” noem. Die plasebo-effek is nie vals nie. Dit is die genesende impak wat denke op die liggaam uitoefen wanneer ‘n mens glo dat die ingryping sal werk. Hierdie genesende impak is werklik en meetbaar. Die brein van mense wat suikerpille ontvang, maar glo dat dit pynpille is, sal breinvervaardigde endorfiene en enkefaliene vrystel, wat breinvervaardigde opiate is wat werklike fisiese pynverligting veroorsaak. Maar as die persoon weet dat dit ‘n suikerpil is, sal die brein nie die endorfiene of enkefaliene vrystel nie.

As ek dit alles bymekaar sit, glo ek dat Jakobus sê dat ons elke ingryping wat ‘n positiewe genesende impak het, moet toepas om die sieke te help:

  • Pas bekende genesingsmiddels toe, maar ook, as die pasiënt ‘n gelowige is, salf met heilige olie om hul verstand en hul eie persoonlike vertroue in God teweeg te bring.
  • Maar moenie daarmee ophou nie – bid! Nooi God se persoonlike genesende teenwoordigheid en opperwil in om betrokke te wees, terwyl jy terselfdertyd jou krag van liefde en goeie gesindheid uitoefen deur God se kwantumontwerp, en jou pogings op die sieke se gesondheid en welstand fokus.

Ons God is die God van die skepping, en alles wat Hy ons vra om te doen, het altyd ‘n rasionele, logiese, redelike basis – selfs al verstaan ons dit nie altyd nie. Bygelowe kom nie van God af nie; hulle kom as gevolg van misverstande en bygelowige denke. Wat Jakobus hier beveel, is geen toweragtige of bygelowige geloof nie, maar goeie, gesonde deernisvolle genesingsbeginsels, stewig gegrond in God se plan vir die lewe!

Over the past couple of years God has been expanding my view of Himself and His character. Along my approximately 40-year journey, I have often had questions, but was hesitant to voice these and step outside the traditionally accepted thinking, for fear of admitting that I may in fact be eternally lost. Thank you for all of your work to correct misconceptions about God’s character. So many people that my husband and I have talked to seem to be against the natural law construct and view it as “errant” and “dangerous.” Having learned more about it through your blogs and lessons, I don’t really understand why they view it that way, except that it means they have to relearn theology they have known for their entire lives. But I’m so excited to relearn this. For the past few years I have been questioning how I could trust a God who punishes arbitrarily and is full of wrath for those who don’t obey His commands. That view made me afraid to “mess up” or “not be good enough,” even within my relationship with God. I really appreciated the point you bring out about God not wanting us to serve Him because we are afraid, but because we love Him.
