Christianity—The Remedy for Racism

Let’s not mince words: Racism is real; racism is wrong; and racism is evil—in all its forms. White supremacy is wrong, evil, and is not to be defended or validated in any form.

But the battle happening in America today is not a battle between white supremacists and black victims; it is a battle between godless evolutionism and biblical Christianity that is presented under the false umbrella of racial inequity. In other words, the real battle is not between races but between cultures—and many black Americans have been tricked into thinking this is a racial war, when, in fact, it is a war between the God of the Bible and the enemy of all mankind. Many people of all races are inadvertently lending their support to the very forces that fuel racial exploitation and abuse while believing they are opposing it.

It is only by putting God first, as Martin Luther King Jr. did, advancing the principles of love, truth and liberty, advocating for the inalienable rights of equality of all people as beings created in the image of God—in other words, returning to the core values of the Protestant Reformation and leaving evolutionism behind—that we will ever have genuine equality.

Martin Luther King Jr. understood it was the principles of the Bible, of the Protestant Reformation, that led to the founding of the USA:

“When the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, they were signing a promissory note. … Even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of the creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.’”

Dr. King knew that racial exploitation in America did not find its roots in the gospel of Jesus Christ, nor in the founding documents of this country. He understood there was another cause. And that cause is God’s enemy, who employs all methods to deny God and lead us away from the Bible.

As Christians, we understand that we are in a war not against mere humans, but against principalities and powers of darkness in the heavenly realms. Our real enemy is Satan and his forces that work behind the scenes to undermine love; obstruct truth; incite fear, jealousy, discord; inflame selfishness; and cause divisions—including racial conflicts and injustices.

In my blog, “BEWARE: THE CURRENT CLAIM OF “INSTITUTIONAL RACISM” IS REALLY AN ATTACK ON CHRISTIANITY,” I document four of God’s principles as described from Scripture, His design for humanity:

  1. God created us with individuality, our own identity and ability to think and reason that we are to develop by exercise—and this requires liberty, freedom of conscience, and choice (Genesis 1:1, 1:27, 28; Isaiah 1:18–20; Romans 14:5; Hebrews 5:14; Galatians 5:23).
  2. God created families with fathers and mothers; love for each other starts in the family and is how God built life to operate (Genesis 1:27, 28).
  3. God created nature, and His laws are the protocols upon which nature operates; thus, God created science, the true investigation of evidence that is testable and reproducible and reveals truth.
  4. And God designed humans for useful labor and gave Adam and Eve work in a sinless world, that we gain strength only through exercise, and that failure to engage in useful labor is damaging to human character (Genesis 2:15; Matthew 25:14).

After describing these Bible principles, I quote word for word from a chart from the National Museum of African American History and Culture, posted in the Smithsonian Institute, which states:

“White dominate culture, or whiteness, refers to the ways white people and their traditions, attitudes and ways of life have been normalized over time and are now considered standard practices in the United States.”

This chart then goes on to describe what it alleges to be the standard practices of whiteness in America today: 1) Rugged individualism, 2) Two-parent family structure, 3) Emphasis on Scientific Method, 4) History [European-centered], and 5) Protestant work ethic.

What is happening in America today is an attack on the principles of God, the principles of the Bible, by labeling these very principles as racist, as “whitism,” when, in fact, it is a cultural war and not a racial war. It is a battle between godless evolutionism and the God of the Bible. This was overtly stated in a July 5, 2021, article that appeared in Scientific America. Entitled “Denial of Evolution Is a Form of White Supremacy,” the author writes,

“I want to unmask the lie that evolution denial is about religion and recognize that at its core, it is a form of white supremacy that perpetuates segregation and violence against Black bodies.”

The author then goes on to take a perverse interpretation of Scriptures, claiming that Christianity teaches that black skin is the “mark of Cain” and is a punishment by God for sin. The article makes this false allegation to support their lie that Christianity is the cause and root of racism. However, any honest Bible student, one who uses the Scripture as their source and authority, will conclude that the Bible nowhere teaches such a perverse conclusion, and, in fact, it teaches that:

You were all baptized into Christ, and so you were all clothed with Christ. This means that you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. In Christ, there is no difference between Jew and Greek, slave and free person, male and female. You are all the same in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:26–28 NCV).

But the article is not interested in biblical truth; it is interested in advancing a godless theory of evolutionary origins. It affirms that in America today, essentially every scientific leader accepts as “truth” that all human life evolved from African ancestors and that the biblical narrative is a lie that must be rejected in order to embrace racial equity.

So, which philosophy, which culture, if lived, if embraced, if practiced, if believed in and carried out, is the true cause of institutional racism—Christianity or godless evolutionism?

At the time in history when the Protestant Reformation was advancing, the principles of equality for all peoples were moving forward, and godly men like William Wilberforce, a British member of parliament who, after becoming a Christian in 1785, fought a 20-year battle to end the slave trade, which resulted in the passing of England’s anti-slave act in 1807—at the time, the Spirit of God was leading to such advancements of equality through the Protestant Reformation, but along comes Charles Darwin and his theory of godless evolution.

Origins of Modern Racism

Evolutionary theory denies that all men are created equal with inalienable rights given to them by our Creator. Instead, Darwin’s lie claims humans evolved on their own from lower life forms, with the last non-human link being the apes.

The core principle of evolutionism is that the strong survive to pass along their genes, which are better, more fit, than the weaker specimens whose genes don’t survive and, thus, die out. Through this process of “natural selection,” the better, more advanced, more fit, members of a species produce offspring with ever-improving traits, and the species evolves into ever more advanced, improved, adapted organisms. The strong will eventually kill off the weak for the betterment of the species.

Darwin applied this godless view to humanity in his book The Descent of Man, where he spelled out his racial theory:

The Western nations of Europe … now so immeasurably surpass their former savage progenitors [that they] stand at the summit of civilization. … The civilized races of man will almost certainly exterminate and replace the savage races through the world. Darwin’s cousin, Sir Francis Galton, inspired by Darwin’s work, pioneered eugenics; in his book Inquiries into Human Faculty and Its Development, he wrote:

[This book’s] intention is to touch on various topics more or less connected with that of the cultivation of race, or, as we might call it, with “eugenic” questions, and to present the results of several of my own separate investigations.

This is, with questions bearing on what is termed in Greek, eugenes, namely, good in stock, hereditarily endowed with noble qualities. This, and the allied words, eugeneia, etc., are equally applicable to men, brutes, and plants. We greatly want a brief word to express the science of improving stock, which is by no means confined to questions of judicious mating, but which, especially in the case of man, takes cognisance of all influences that tend in however remote a degree to give the more suitable races or strains of blood a better chance of prevailing speedily over the less suitable than they otherwise would have had. —Galton 1883, pp. 24–25

Darwin’s godless evolutionary theory led directly to eugenics, which led directly to the eugenics movements of the 20th Century, including those in the USA against African-Americans, such as forced sterilization, institutionalizations, and Human Zoos, in which black children were displayed in public with apes. Eugenics became accepted by many in the scientific world, including in psychiatry, resulting in the forced sterilization of those with mental handicaps. In Europe, this godless philosophy contributed to the rise of the Nazis, with their white supremacist philosophy and the Holocaust.

As Richard Weikart, in his book From Darwin to Hitler: Evolutionary Ethics, Eugenics, and Racism in Germany, states:

Darwinism by itself did not produce the Holocaust, but without Darwinism … neither Hitler nor his Nazi followers would have had the necessary scientific underpinnings to convince themselves and their collaborators that one of the world’s greatest atrocities was really morally praiseworthy.

And today in America, the Alt-Right and neo-Nazi groups embrace the philosophies of Darwinism and reject the principles of Jesus Christ, that all human beings are created in God’s image and are members of His family—that we are all brothers and sisters in Christ.

Satan’s Latest Battlefront

There are two antagonistic principles at war in human history: God’s principles of truth, love, freedom, the equality of all people as children of God, which led the Founding Fathers to construct the founding documents of this nation, which state that all human beings are created with inalienable rights by our Creator—and Satan’s view of godless evolutionism, the survival-of-the-fittest principles of selfishness and coercion, where people are merely animals evolved from lower life forms.

We, as Christians, war against Satan’s lies about God, including the lie that we evolved from lower life forms. We reject the lie that institutional racism is a result of Jesus, of the Bible, of Protestant Christianity; we must stand up and not be duped into siding with those forces in society that are claiming to advance racial justice through godless evolutionism and the political forces associated with it. If we want to advance the cause of God, we cannot align ourselves with the godless and give our support to forces that denounce our Savior, ridicule our godly origins, and claim that Christianity is the cause of racism.

We must return to the principles of God in how we live our lives. This is the only way to experience health, wellness, and equality. True equality is found in Jesus. We must return to the Bible, return to the truth that we—every human being of every race—are all descendants of Adam and Eve, who were created by our Creator in His image. When we do this, we will practice godly principles and embrace the truths of the Protestant Reformation:

  1. That each person is created with their own individuality, the ability to think and reason, which must be developed to its fullest potential.
  2. That God created families and that the healthiest outcomes for all people are when families function as God designed. From the Institute for Family Studies:
    • Black children from two-parent homes consistently do better than white children from single parent homes:
      • 36% of young black women from intact families have graduated from college, compared to just 28% of young white women from single-parent families.
      • 14% of young black men from intact families have been incarcerated, compared to 18% of young white men from single-parent families.
      • 13% of black children in intact families are poor compared to 33% of white children in single-parent families.
  3. We must return to evidence-based, godly understanding of our world and stop believing based on authority of office.
  4. Each person must engage in useful labor—some activity that is beneficial to their own health, welfare, as well as to their family and friends in their community.

There is a real war going on in the world today—but it isn’t a war between races; it is the same old war going on throughout all human history, a war of two cultures—the culture of truth, love, liberty—equality of all humans created in the image of God versus lies, fear, selfishness, which are the godless evolutionary survival-of-the-fittest methods. It is up to you to choose on which side of this battle you will be found.

In my search for “why is this happening to me, God?” I came across your book, “Could it be this Simple,” and God started revealing to me the many distortions I held about His character, His principles, and how He has designed His universe to operate. I came into the church at 21, but that is as far as it went. I was so confused about what love is. I couldn’t find it in the bible, because I am not a person that can read between the lines. I have no logic. I have read many, many books; trying to figure out the crux of the matter. They were helpful, but something was still missing. I have become very frustrated to the point of crying out to God, “Where can I go?”  I needed some basics.

I found two books, written by Timothy Jennings, MD, to be very helpful. God showed me that I had lived my whole life in fear. I didn’t even see it. Now, I do. God is so good.  I discovered the “The Remedy”  Dr. Jennings new book, “The God-Shaped Heart!” Oh, I was so excited, I purchased them right away.

I can get rid of most of my books, because “The Remedy” brings the Love of God out so clearly, even I can’t miss it. Now, I want to sit and read my Bible. Wow, what a revelation! It is just simply Awesome! I am so grateful to Jehovah Almighty for hearing my prayer for more understanding! I am so encouraged!

Thank you for all of your work to correct misconceptions about God’s character. So many people that my husband and I have talked to seem to be against the natural law construct and view it as “errant” and “dangerous.” Having learned more about it through your blogs and lessons, I don’t really understand why they view it that way, except that it means they have to relearn theology they have known for their entire lives. But I’m so excited to relearn this. For the past few years I have been questioning how I could trust a God who punishes arbitrarily and is full of wrath for those who don’t obey His commands. That view made me afraid to “mess up” or “not be good enough,” even within my relationship with God. I am so pleased with the response your message is receiving at my church from the middle-aged to the young adults. I have given out 100 copies of the first two seminars and there are more request every week. One of my [class members] came to me after viewing the series, grateful and impressed with how easy the message was retained. I’ve been reading the bible and walking with Jesus since I was around 16. I’m 42 now. I’ve mostly been alone in my walk although I went to several churches in different denominations. For the past 3 years God has been showing me His character of agape. It’s been a blessing and changed how I view God and my walk with Jesus. About a year ago I came across the power of love and the principles of design law. These teachings changed how I read scripture and have been such a beautiful blessing. After coming into contact with Come And Reason Ministries, I can finally say that many of my unanswered questions have fallen into place. I discovered that my view of God’s Law was “imposed laws and rules” with “imposed punishments” and that this was the major culprit of my many unanswered questions. Thanks be to God for using you and those around you to help us who have struggled with this “infection” of thought. I have now rejected the “imposed law” concept to fully embrace “Design Law”… to look thru “Design Law,” instead of “imposed law,” is a relief.
