In 2006 People magazine published a special edition, “Amazing Stores of Survival” and in that edition I read about the Ayala’s.
Mary and Abe Ayala were confronted with a heart breaking crisis and dilemma when their 16 year old daughter Anissa was diagnosed with terminal leukemia.
Without a bone marrow transplant Annisa would die. Quickly they checked the bone marrow registry, but no matches. Mary, Abe and Anissa’s brother were all checked but sadly again no matches. In desperation to save their daughter, Mary and Abe chose to try to have another child hoping that the new child would be a tissue match and they could save Anissa.
Fortunately Mary became pregnant quickly and, as soon as a tissue sample could be obtained, they rejoiced with the news that Anissa’s little sister, Marissa-Eve, was a tissue match. Fourteen months after her birth, the bone marrow transplant took place and Anissa was saved.
Why did Mary and Abe bring this child into the world? Why did this innocent baby have to shed its blood? Because it was needed in order to heal and save their child.
What is leukemia? Cancer is cells that have lost self-control, cells that are no longer operating in harmony with their programming, no longer operating in harmony with the laws of health and, ultimately, death ensues unless some intervention, (some intercession) is done to put the cancer into remission; unless something changes the cancerous cells back to their precancerous state. Without the shedding of blood there could be no remission.
Without the shedding of Christ’s blood there is no remission from sin. Without the shedding of Christ’s blood we could not be changed back into our original pre-selfish loving Godlike state that God created mankind, in Adam to be.
No one knows why Anissa got leukemia but, what if at age 5, she disobeyed her father’s command to never drink the pesticides, and it was exposure to this toxin that eventually resulted in the leukemia. If the leukemia was a direct result of disobedience to her father’s command, would justice require that her father let her die? Or worse yet, would justice require that her father kill her to punish her for her disobedience?
What would justice require her father to do, if that justice is based on the Law of Love?
What if the father had said, “In the day you disobey and drink the pesticide you will surely die.” If he had said those very words, would the father need to let her die in order to be just? If the father did warn his daughter, “In the day you drink you will surely die,” why would he say such a thing? As a threat? Or to protect?
And once the daughter has this terminal condition, what is needed? What do the “laws” of health require? In order to be just, in order to not violate the “laws” of health, what must transpire? The cancer must go into remission. The unhealthy, deformed cells must remit, and what is the only way to make that happen? A remedy and a cure must be provided.
So why did God say to Adam, “In the day you eat of the Tree of Knowledge of good and evil you will die?” Because God would be forced to kill him? Or because mankind would deviate from the law of love – the law of life – and without intervention, the only consequence is ruin and death?
And once our first parents infected themselves with this terminal condition, what was needed? A remedy and cure! And Jesus Christ is our remedy!
Jesus said to them, “I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life… John 6:53,54
Let’s partake of Jesus and experience His healing in your life today.
