Psalms ◦ Chapter 95
1O Come, let us sing together for joy to the Lord;
let us shout to God our Remedy who heals us, how glad we are. 2Come into his presence with thankful hearts
and let our lives be songs of love celebrating him. 3For the Lord is the great creator God,
the supreme ruler — the source of life — above all gods. 4He governs and sustains all reality,
from the earth’s core to the highest mountains. 5The sea is his, for he made it,
and he created the dry land. 6Come, let us bow down in humble worship;
let us kneel before our Maker, 7for he is our Creator God
and we are the people he is treating —
the flock of wounded under his care.
Today, if you hear his voice offering healing and restoration, 8do not reject the true Remedy and harden your hearts as you did in Meribah,
as you did in the rebellion in the desert at Massah,
during the opportunity to take God’s cure, 9where your fathers broke my heart by trying their own remedies
and rejected the healing truth I brought. 10For forty years I patiently tried to heal them and was angry that they wouldn’t let me;
I said, "These people prefer selfishness; they refuse my remedy
and will not embrace my design laws for life." 11Angry that they wouldn’t let me heal them, I declared the reality:
"Since they refuse the Remedy I freely offer,
they will never be able to enter my rest and get well."
